📋 Description

• Build application-level building blocks that enable Airbnb engineers and AI agents to ship product behavior safely and quickly • Design and implement distributed systems and production services • Implement core features, formulate rollout and testing plans, and participate in on-call rotations • Maintain and debug existing systems, including fixing bugs, improving test coverage, performance, production excellence, and observability • Conduct code reviews and create dashboards for system observability • Provide technical support to engineers and developers by answering questions, debugging code, and troubleshooting problems • Partner with stakeholders to understand, design, implement, and ship feature requests • Stay current with emerging technologies, including AI, and identify technologies for future systems • Collaborate with Airbnb engineers, external teams, partners, and stakeholders on company-wide initiatives

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience • 3+ years of industry experience • Experience working on distributed systems and evaluating trade-offs • Proficiency in Java, micro-services, observability systems, and debugging distributed and multi-threaded systems • AI-first engineering approach using LLM-powered agents to generate and iterate on code • Proficiency in technical communication, including writing design docs, presenting in design reviews, and writing effective post-mortems • Proactive, clear communication and collaboration through code reviews and architecture discussions • Motivation to contribute to a positive team culture and build belonging • Excitement to join an impactful infrastructure team
