📋 Description

• Coordinate resources and systems required to install application software in production and test environments • Develop and execute plans for data conversion, application software validation, and system-to-system interface validation • Create detailed system documentation • Provide primary troubleshooting and resolution support for clinical application system issues • Diagnose problems and develop corrective action plans involving procedures, workflows, or data entry instructions • Collaborate with ITG, customers, and vendors to identify causes and implement solutions • Schedule and manage application fixes and upgrades with minimal disruption • Monitor key systems and interfaces, including ADT, order entry, results reporting, and billing • Provide expert technical knowledge of clinical applications to ITG and clinical staff • Perform diagnostic analysis on applications, servers, and technical systems • Participate in an on-call rotation for 24/7 healthcare clinical and administrative application support • Implement Departmental Healthcare Information Systems using detailed project plans, dependencies, and critical path tasks • Track and assign project tasks and follow up on schedule completion • Identify milestones and report missed or at-risk milestones to management • Schedule and prepare progress meetings and provide project reports to management • Coordinate project tasks involving phone lines, power sources, server delivery and configuration, backup plans, and disaster recovery priorities • Develop system specifications with hospital department managers, supervisors, staff, and ITG support staff • Assist with RFP identification, resource coordination, cost-benefit analysis, and alternative evaluation • Work with customers, vendors, and ITG to identify hardware and software resources for new systems • Review system performance with customers and identify, prioritize, and manage ITG projects • Identify opportunities to streamline, consolidate, and enhance system performance • Oversee server, database, application/desktop integration, and security in the OHSU/Partners computing environment • Recommend application software deployment for thin or fat clients • Monitor system activity across multiple operating systems and understand database structures • Perform system analysis, specification, testing, and validation for new installations, upgrades, and clinical application interfaces • Support system-to-system interface implementation and coordinate system connectivity configurations • Develop validation and testing documentation for new systems, interfaces, and version upgrades • Develop training materials and train customers and operations/help desk staff

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and six years of work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operations healthcare environments; OR Associate’s degree and seven years of related experience; OR eight years of related experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience • Two or more years of paid work experience as a Systems/Application Analyst or Application Administrator • Experience and working knowledge in operating system software, relational and/or hierarchical databases, and technical application support for administrative and clinical systems • Experience in analysis of technical systems • Experience developing specifications for system-to-system interfaces • Experience performing business analysis and technical impacts • Experience managing multiple projects • Experience managing complex customer relationships in an enterprise setting • Experience with device integration and network communication • Experience managing and supporting multiple applications and technical systems • Strong project management skills, including successful projects from scheduling, design, testing, and implementation • Strong system analysis skills • Ability to maintain operating systems, installed applications, and interfaces, including upgrades, patches, technical configuration changes, and security • Strong ability to troubleshoot technical and clinical workflow-related issues • Ability to elicit and document necessary support information • Ability to work effectively with colleagues and diverse work groups in a hospital setting • Preferred: BS Degree in Computer Science or related field • Preferred: Experience in Healthcare Information Systems • Preferred: Experience with terminal emulation software, file transfer, and data conversions • Preferred: Experience writing system validation plans • Preferred: Experience or training with Imaging, Cardiology, Labs, Pharmacy systems, and EPIC • Preferred: Medical device integration and management • Preferred: Document management • Preferred: Healthcare IT regulatory policies and PHI regulatory requirements • Preferred: Working knowledge of HL7 and TCP/IP • Preferred: ITIL foundation certification
