Cari Network is a permissioned, blockchain-based payments and settlement platform that issues tokenized deposits called "Cari"—digital tokens representing U. S. dollar customer deposits held at chartered banks. The network is built to enable always-on, programmable, on-chain money movement that integrates with bank systems, preserves regulatory protections of underlying deposits (including FDIC insurance eligibility within limits), and connects traditional banking infrastructure with decentralized finance participants.

📋 Description

• Set technical direction for cross-cutting backend platform infrastructure, including durable workflow orchestration, transaction-ordering and concurrency-control patterns, and shared primitives • Design systems spanning multiple services, including platform data flow, live-system migration strategies, and shared infrastructure API versioning • Establish cross-service reliability standards, including load testing profiles, deployment safety gates, and pre-launch failure-mode analysis • Build tooling, templates, and enforced standards such as shared CI patterns, reusable service scaffolding, and common observability conventions • Align multiple engineering teams on shared technical direction and build consensus • Represent backend platform engineering in cross-organizational technical planning • Identify architectural risk before it becomes an incident • Comply with Cari information security policies and complete required security awareness training • Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Cari systems and data using least-privilege principles

🎯 Requirements

• 8-10+ years of backend software engineering experience, including a track record of setting technical direction across multiple services or teams • Deep expertise in at least one of: durable workflow/orchestration systems, distributed transaction ordering, or data-consistency guarantees in financial or otherwise correctness-critical systems • Strong proficiency in TypeScript • Production experience with Effect (effect.ts) or a comparable functional effect system strongly preferred • Experience designing systems that other teams build on top of • Track record of driving cross-team technical alignment without formal authority • Strong instincts around financial-grade reliability: idempotency, at-least-once delivery, crash recovery, and reconciliation, at a scale spanning multiple services • Comfortable identifying and naming architectural risk • Prior work in fintech, payments, or another regulated financial infrastructure environment ideally at meaningful transaction scale • Experience with blockchain or custody-adjacent transaction systems • Track record of building internal platform tooling or standards adopted org-wide • Must be based in the United States • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
