📋 Description

• Serve as the first line of engineering response for production and support issues during business hours • Triage and prioritize issues by patient impact • Diagnose and fix bugs across a large Django codebase and associated services • Make safe live production data edits for billing, coverage, eligibility, and invoice issues • Own and improve the admin portal and internal tooling • Build documentation, runbooks, and diagnostic tools for Support self-service • Partner with Support, Clinical Operations, Implementations, and Engineering to turn recurring incidents into permanent fixes • Track patterns in eligibility, coverage, billing, and clinical integration issues • Monitor operational health metrics including appointment coverage, invoice transmission, price accuracy, lab processing, and e-prescribing errors • Lead the Kafka-based AWS MSK Event Bus initiative using CloudEvents and Python • Integrate the Event Bus library, define event contracts, and drive adoption across teams • Use AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude for root-cause analysis, data corrections, and code review

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, operating at a senior level with a record of owning production systems end to end • Deep, hands-on Python and Django expertise • Experience with Django REST Framework APIs, Celery async task processing, and complex ORM queries across multiple databases • Proven debugging and production troubleshooting skills • Experience with relational databases (MySQL and/or PostgreSQL), including writing and optimizing queries and understanding multi-database routing • Experience operating production SaaS, ideally multi-tenant • Clear written communication skills for documentation, runbooks, and cross-functional collaboration • Ability to operate as a self-directed, solo owner • Proficiency in using AI development tools • Experience building software in healthcare or another high-stakes, highly regulated, or safety-critical domain is a bonus • Experience with Apache Kafka, AWS MSK, or event-driven architectures is a bonus • Familiarity with healthcare billing and revenue cycle management concepts is a bonus • Experience with HL7, FHIR, or health information exchange platforms is a bonus • Experience with ElasticSearch, Redis, RabbitMQ, or Celery in production environments is a bonus • Experience with e-prescribing systems, lab integrations, or pharmacy workflows is a bonus • TypeScript experience or willingness to learn it is a bonus • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines is a bonus • Prior production support, sustaining, or reliability-focused engineering experience is a bonus
