📋 Description

• Evaluate the quality of interactions with modern coding agents such as OpenAI Codex and Claude Code • Assess whether AI coding-agent responses make sense and whether preambles and reasoning are useful • Judge whether outputs demonstrate strong engineering judgment and align with how a strong engineer would think • Evaluate AI-generated coding interactions end-to-end • Assess whether outputs are useful and correct at a high level • Assess the quality of explanations and reasoning, not just code • Distinguish between different levels of response quality • Provide clear, opinionated feedback on what worked, what did not, and what felt off or misleading • Help define what great interaction looks like when using tools such as Cursor • Make subjective but rigorous judgments about engineering taste and user trust

🎯 Requirements

• Highly experienced software engineer (SR+) or Staff / Principal-level engineer (or equivalent experience) • Strong background in TypeScript / JavaScript or Python • Hands-on experience using OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor • Deep familiarity with modern AI-assisted development workflows • Ability to evaluate code without needing to fully execute or deeply review every line • Comfortable giving direct, opinionated feedback • High bar for what good engineering looks like • Experience with tools like Cursor or similar AI-first IDEs • Prior exposure to prompt design or evaluation workflows • Experience mentoring senior engineers or defining engineering standards • Must complete a take-home evaluation exercise and one behavioral interview • Must agree to a simple background check for the project • Must provide a location, resume, phone number, and earliest available start date during application

🏖️ Benefits

• $100–$200/hour rate • Possible extension beyond early May • Flexible part-time engagement of approximately 10–20 hours/week
