📋 Description

• Plan, design, and execute functional and automated testing for modern applications • Lead or contribute to project planning by identifying testing scope, risks, environment needs, test data requirements, and tooling • Translate business and technical requirements into test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases • Cover functional, integration, regression, performance, and security-related validation • Design and build automated unit, API, integration, and user-interface tests for CI/CD pipelines • Perform hands-on testing of workflows, edge cases, data validations, and error handling • Validate event/message-based services and distributed workflows, including Apache Kafka systems • Test API-centric and cloud-friendly architectures such as microservices and serverless applications • Partner with product, development, DevSecOps, engineering teams, and stakeholders • Coordinate test environments, deployments, configuration changes, and release readiness • Apply data security procedures and track security risks and defects through resolution • Produce testing documentation, test evidence, defect reports, dashboards, charts/diagrams, and runbooks • Drive defect triage and root-cause analysis; verify fixes and implement preventative quality controls • Validate observability, including logging, metrics, tracing, performance baselines, and readiness checks • Use approved AI-assisted development and testing workflows • Perform other job-related duties supporting delivery and operational goals

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited College/University • If lacking a relevant four-year degree, an additional four years of relevant work experience is required • Minimum 8 years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or software development with significant testing/automation responsibilities • Experience owning test strategy and automation for complex, distributed, or cloud-based systems • Experience leading and executing functional testing and test automation across the software development lifecycle • Ability to define and implement test strategies for distributed/cloud applications, including regression planning and release readiness • Experience with automated testing tools for unit, API, and user interface testing • Familiarity with TDD concepts and automation-first approaches • Experience in CI/CD pipeline environments using source code management and build/deployment tooling such as GitLab or Jenkins • Working knowledge of secure coding and secure engineering expectations • Experience validating message/event-driven systems, including Kafka-based workflows and asynchronous processing • Experience testing microservices and serverless applications, including contract validation and integration testing • Cloud and data pipeline familiarity with one or more of Dataflow, Pub/Sub, or Redis • Strong troubleshooting skills involving logs, metrics, and traces • Technical fluency in one or more automation/validation languages such as Java, Python, SQL, and/or JavaScript • Knowledge of performance tuning, multi-threading awareness, and observability principles • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust • Must provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility • U.S. residency requirement: required recent U.S. residency history under USPS security clearance rules • Preferred: Agile delivery and SDLC practices • Preferred: VersionOne, ServiceNow, and ALM practices • Preferred: Docker and Kubernetes • Preferred: Kubernetes security practices • Preferred: OpenCode, Claude Code, and Gemini Vertex AI • Preferred: Audit/compliance test documentation experience
