• Lead technical analysis for power electronic and power systems control of renewable generation, battery energy storage systems, large industrial drives, and FACTS • Develop customer projects and manage contracts against technical, schedule, and cost objectives • Identify and cultivate new customers and business opportunities • Lead proposal preparation and develop customer presentations • Lead GE NPI/NTI activities on inverter-based resources • Lead and organize project teams, guiding contributors and ensuring high-quality, on-time, and budget-compliant deliverables • Support customers with power systems engineering expertise, including EMT modeling, analysis, equipment design and specification, and failure mode analysis • Oversee and perform load flow, stability, fault, transient, and detailed equipment modeling studies • Support development of generation, transmission, and distribution products based on evolving codes and standards • Participate in industry standards groups and lead innovative power system analysis approaches • Prepare detailed written reports and presentations communicating analyses, solutions, and customer value propositions • Present technical content at regional forums and conferences and serve as an industry thought leader • Mentor and train engineers in steady-state and dynamic power system analysis, SSR analysis, control system modeling and tuning, and project execution and management
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university • Minimum 10 years of industry experience in power electronics equipment design and control and power system analysis • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience supporting intellectual property through critical patent filing • At least 6 patents filed as author and/or co-author • Experience supporting technical aspects of intellectual property clearance processes for new products • Demonstrated experience executing/leading GE NPI/NTI activities on inverter-based resources control design and performance verification, with at least 3 years leading these activities • Experience performing/leading converter performance verification of wind products, control design, equipment modeling, and requirements definition for wind turbine generator converter NPI teams • Experience performing/leading complex grid interaction studies for wind plants • Experience developing/designing software and/or hardware solutions to mitigate grid interaction issues • Demonstrated experience modeling and tuning renewable power generation control systems in EMT tools such as PSCAD or WindTRAP • Experience developing control solutions for grid compliance using embedded solutions such as Mark VIE and C++ • Experience with hardware/instrumentation, power hardware in the loop, and simulations for analysis and troubleshooting inverter-based resource performance • Experience designing power electronics converters for wind application systems • Experience with Matlab/Simulink, PSCAD, and RTDS • Experience with programming languages such as Python, FORTRAN, C++, and MATLAB/Simulink • Experience with software version tracking tools such as TortoiseHg and TortoiseSVN • Demonstrated application of complex mathematics and engineering to real-world electric power system problems • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to communicate with internal stakeholders and external customers/plant staff • Willingness to travel up to 10% • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
