📋 Description

• Own one or more partner integration surfaces end-to-end • Maintain integration surfaces as sales, success, and product needs evolve • Shape the public API for builders and AI agents acting on behalf of nonprofits • Spike, prototype, and de-risk new partnerships • Design and defend API contracts, webhook shapes, and data flows • Partner with the existing integrations lead and grow into shared ownership • Collaborate with Product, Growth, Marketing, and external partner engineers • Read partner documentation, investigate integration failures, and clarify implementation approaches • Participate in partner engineering calls • Contribute to production on-call rotation • Use and review terminal-based AI development tools in the engineering workflow

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years shipping production backend services, ideally on a modern web framework • Strong proficiency in PHP / Laravel, or adjacent framework fluency in Rails, Django, or Spring • Deep familiarity with REST API design, HTTP semantics, and API design patterns • Solid SQL; MySQL specifically or sufficient relational database experience to discuss trade-offs • Experience building against real-world third-party APIs • Comfortable designing async job workflows, queued work, and observable failure paths • Strong knowledge of OAuth, webhooks, and public API trust-boundary decisions • Active use of terminal-based AI development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, with review discipline • Experience contributing to an on-call rotation for production services • Comfortable navigating an existing monorepo, particularly PHP / Laravel backends • U.S. citizen or permanent resident • Nice to have: contributions to a public API, custom AI tooling or agent workflows, familiarity with AI agents consuming APIs, API specification knowledge, and nonprofit or mission-driven experience
