📋 Description

• Lead stakeholder discovery through interviews and process walkthroughs • Define problem statements, affected users, and success measures • Recommend native features, Workato, or custom automation approaches • Design secure, human-centered, API-first, and event-driven solutions • Own solutions from design and build through testing, release, monitoring, support, and retirement • Build and maintain Workato recipes and connectors with resilient error handling and monitoring • Build custom automation tooling and AWS middleware • Design and evolve Jira, JSM, and Confluence workflows, custom fields, automations, and service management configurations • Architect and govern the Workato citizen development platform, including frameworks, templates, connectors, service accounts, and sandboxes • Review team-built automations against guardrails • Enforce least-privilege access and secure credential practices • Serve as technical escalation point and mentor IT Admins and AI Admins • Apply Glean, Rovo, Claude, Gemini, and Bedrock to business automation needs • Write runbooks, design documents, and handoff materials • Report delivery velocity, integration reliability, and adoption to the Senior Manager and stakeholders • Demonstrate integrity, process improvement, and customer satisfaction

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience • 5+ years of experience in IT, business systems engineering, integration, or automation engineering • 3+ years of experience building and supporting production integrations or automations • Experience supporting a distributed or remote-first workforce • Experience owning solutions from requirements gathering through production support • Experience leading complex, high-impact projects with little to no supervision • Hands-on experience building and maintaining integrations on an iPaaS platform, preferably Workato • Working knowledge of APIs, webhooks, data models, REST, and event-driven integration patterns • Ability to write custom code or scripts • Hands-on experience engineering workflows, custom fields, and automations in Jira, JSM, Confluence, or comparable platforms • Experience gathering requirements from non-technical teams and creating design documents and testable acceptance criteria • Understanding of RBAC, least-privilege access, service accounts, and data privacy • Experience mentoring junior engineers or administrators • Ability to explain design decisions and tradeoffs clearly in writing • Experience with Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Workato or similar iPaaS, APIs, webhooks, REST, event-driven integration patterns, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, and cloud middleware such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, or EventBridge • Relevant certifications and experience with governed citizen development, JSM service catalogs, AI platforms, SOC 2 environments, or high-growth SaaS/cybersecurity companies are advantageous
