📋 Description

• Collaboratively create training materials suitable for scientists of all levels and career stages • Work with subject matter experts, professional educators, rigor champions, technologists, and others to create engaging and effective educational content • Design, develop, deploy, assess, and revise educational content • Contribute to shared C4R projects, including providing feedback on web-based interactive components • Evaluate existing educational units and integrate feedback into future versions • Work across C4R, the Kording Lab, Penn, and partner organizations • Communicate across teams and individuals, including giving and receiving constructive feedback and actionable guidance • Support implementation of C4R values in work and processes • Present C4R content to audiences, including test audiences • Travel to conferences to represent C4R, with travel under 10%

🎯 Requirements

• Master's degree and a minimum of three years of experience teaching in a higher-education setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Preference for background in statistics, the life sciences, neuroscience, or related fields • Awareness of rigor and reproducibility issues, especially in the biomedical sciences • Familiarity with evidence-based pedagogy and instructional design • Empathy with the learner audience and ability to meet learners where they are • Strong writing and documentation skills, including providing written feedback and updating internal knowledge base documents • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio/visual scripts, and related materials • Certified Instructor for The Carpentries or similar certification preferred • Familiarity with explicit teaching / explicit instruction preferred • Familiarity with project management tools or systems such as Monday.com, Trello, Asana, or Jira preferred • Experience creating educational multimedia, including graphics, audio recordings, video clips, and interactive simulations preferred • Resume and cover letter required • Ability to indicate availability to start in application materials
