📋 Description

• Turn loose or incomplete client requirements into clear scope, a working design, and delivered software. • Set technical direction and engineering standards across automation, backend, and web work. • Design services, automation, and data flows bridging legacy systems and modern platforms, and document architectural tradeoffs. • Design and build typed, tested, extensible Python services and APIs such as FastAPI. • Build or guide web applications and internal tools, partnering with front-end engineers on API contracts and user workflows. • Lead browser, desktop, and computer-vision automation using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, OpenCV, and OCR. • Own third-party system, API, and client-interface integrations, including data mapping and error handling. • Design schemas, migrations, and queries for scalability and correctness. • Design for failure with retries, partial-work recovery, and safe concurrent processing. • Own system build, deployment, and operations across CI/CD, containers, and cloud or customer-hosted environments. • Lead incident response and root-cause analysis. • Serve as a technical contact for client IT and business teams, explaining tradeoffs and constraints plainly. • Assess feasibility, define deliverable phases, and provide effort estimates. • Evaluate and introduce AI/ML and LLM tools into production. • Own secure credential handling, access control, logging, and audit practices aligned with HIPAA and HITRUST. • Write design, deployment, and operations documentation. • Mentor Software Engineer I and II teammates through reviews, pairing, and technical guidance. • Participate in hiring and technical interviews and help shape engineering practices.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience. • Expert proficiency in Python, including production-grade design, testing, and performance tuning. • A proven record of taking loosely defined requirements to working production solutions. • Experience designing and building backend services and APIs. • Strong SQL skills, including schema design, migrations, query performance, and concurrency. • Experience owning systems in production: deployment, monitoring, incident response, and root-cause analysis. • Experience with CI/CD and containerized deployment (e.g., Docker). • Experience integrating with third-party systems and APIs. • Direct client- or stakeholder-facing experience, including explaining technical decisions to non-technical audiences. • Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical work across a team. • Working knowledge of HIPAA or similar data privacy requirements, and secure handling of sensitive data. • Proficiency with Git, including branching strategies and code review practices. • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA. • No Contractors, No C2C, No Visa Sponsorship. • No recruiting agencies.
