📋 Description

• Support a digital payments modernization program integrating a major card network into a large U.S. financial institution • Apply domain-driven design to define bounded contexts, domain models, aggregate boundaries, and shared business language • Develop and harden Spring Boot/JPA/PostgreSQL Aurora services with Liquibase migrations and Drools business rules • Design authorization and data-access controls • Design integration workflows and routing with Apache Camel or equivalent • Develop Kafka event-driven architecture, including topic/schema design and producer/consumer reliability • Develop a Next.js/React/TypeScript micro-frontend and plan its integration with a shared micro-frontend shell • Own OAuth2/OIDC identity architecture, including Okta integration, token validation, sessions, and revocation • Design AWS IAM, S3, and CloudFront architecture across environments • Lead deployment on the internal static cloud hosting platform • Drive test-driven development and continuous testing automation across CI/CD • Design and execute enterprise performance testing strategies and define success criteria • Identify bottlenecks and improve performance across legacy and modern service layers • Instrument and validate Java, Oracle, Tomcat, WebSphere, PostgreSQL, and OpenShift services • Build and maintain Java backend services for card network integration using PostgreSQL and OpenShift • Contribute to modernization and migration from legacy infrastructure to cloud-native environments • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and cross-team technical planning • Support PCI data purging, token removal, event consumption, data lifecycle, and compliance requirements • Serve as a senior contributor across teams and translate performance findings into stakeholder recommendations

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in Java • Strong working knowledge of relational databases; Oracle and/or PostgreSQL required • Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, or equivalent • Experience with Spring Boot/JPA, business rules engines such as Drools, and integration/orchestration frameworks such as Apache Camel • Working knowledge of Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms, including topic/schema design and producer/consumer reliability patterns • Practical production experience applying domain-driven design • Experience designing authorization/data-access controls • Experience designing and governing AWS IAM, S3, CloudFront, or equivalents • Experience with Next.js/React/TypeScript, micro-frontends, and independently deployable frontend systems • Experience owning OAuth2/OIDC identity flows, provider integration, token validation, and session/revocation design • At least one enterprise-level performance testing engagement • Experience with performance profiling, load testing, and bottleneck resolution in high-throughput distributed systems • Ability to design logical, streamlined test frameworks from scratch and operate with minimal guidance • Experience driving test-driven development practices across a team • Experience building continuous testing/automation pipelines as part of CI/CD • Understanding of PCI compliance requirements and secure data handling practices • Demonstrated ability to work in large, matrixed program environments with multiple teams and stakeholders • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Comfortable operating with evolving requirements and ambiguity • Bachelor’s Degree required; in lieu of a degree, three years of specialized training and/or progressively responsible technology work experience for each missing year of college, in addition to the minimum experience, is required • No sponsorship available for this role
