📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership and supervision to support project demands while maintaining a limited project workload. • Provide technical oversight and guidance to engineers within the office. • Work with the Director of Engineering to achieve department goals. • Recruit, select, orient, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees. • Communicate job expectations and review employee contributions and compensation actions. • Contribute engineering information and recommendations to strategic plans. • Prepare and complete action plans, implement operational standards, resolve problems, complete audits, and identify system improvements. • Provide oversight and procedural direction to ensure proper engineering processes throughout projects. • Develop and maintain relationships with senior engineering leaders, managers, executives, and current or prospective clients. • Coordinate work with engineering offices where shared resources reside. • Cross-train employees on multi-client standards. • Coordinate with Business Development to support pipeline and workflow backlog. • Present technical solutions to key customers and respond to technical concerns. • Delegate, plan, prioritize, and forecast engineering requirements and training schedules. • Participate in client meetings and job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data. • Provide technical support for quotes and estimating. • Review and approve employee time sheets and expense statements. • Ensure project cost, quality, and schedule requirements are met. • Conduct audits to ensure design packages follow Qualus QA/QC processes. • Oversee internal training by identifying staff needs and coordinating training resources. • Attend project kickoff meetings covering scope, specifications, budgets, schedules, and safety requirements.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; ABET accreditation preferred. • Master's degree in Engineering Management or MBA is a plus. • Minimum 5 years in management within the energy sector. • Experience performing substation physical design, protection and control design, and/or power systems studies. • Professional Engineering license preferred. • Strong communication skills and ability to relate to all organizational levels. • Knowledge of business and technical terminology. • Strong analytical and computer skills. • Strong decision-making skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication, people, and organizational skills. • Proven ability to develop and maintain financial plans. • Strong sense of urgency, organization, and attention to detail while prioritizing tasks efficiently and meeting deadlines. • Ability to independently work with probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry. • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. • Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping or kneeling, talking and hearing, and using fingers and hands to feel objects and tools up to 75% of the time. • Frequent use of a computer and smartphone for communication. • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
