📋 Description

• Build and improve backend services in Go for Rare Candy’s collector-facing product • Develop and maintain GraphQL APIs with mobile and frontend engineers • Design and evolve relational data models • Write efficient SQL and safely implement database changes • Implement business logic, background jobs, and third-party integrations for collections, marketplace activity, and Instapacks • Write automated tests • Investigate production bugs • Improve reliability and performance using logs and metrics • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to turn ideas into shipped experiences • Get the backend running locally and understand core services and data models • Ship backend fixes and features, including well-scoped features implemented, tested, deployed, and verified in production • Contribute reliably across important parts of the product and take ownership of increasingly important features

🎯 Requirements

• Around 5–7 years of backend development experience • Production system or serious side-project experience shipping real features • Comfortable building in Go, including error handling, interfaces, concurrency basics, and testing • Experience building or maintaining APIs • GraphQL experience is a plus, or willingness to learn GraphQL from a REST background • Experience with relational databases and SQL, including schema design, joins, indexes, and transactions • Focus on correctness, reliability, and maintainable code • Comfortable using logs and debugging tools to trace problems through APIs, services, or databases • Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup with shifting priorities • Knowledge of the trading-card or collector world, or fluency in a similar collectible space • Curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable learning by doing • Required to submit a resume • Required to answer application questions about a Go service, debugging experience, and trading-card or collector communities • Location field is required in the application
