📋 Description

• Define target-state architecture, standards, design patterns, and roadmap for endpoint management, telemetry, inventory, patching, and remote support platforms • Establish architectural governance, design review processes, architecture decision records, non-functional requirements, and exception handling • Evaluate endpoint management, RMM, and observability platforms and lead proof-of-concept and build-vs-buy analyses • Design scalable, resilient, multi-tenant and multi-brand fleet management systems • Align fleet architecture with Zero Trust, conditional access, device compliance, and least-privilege principles • Produce architecture diagrams, data flows, integration contracts, runbooks, and roadmaps • Build tooling, APIs, connectors, and automation frameworks integrating endpoint platforms with ITSM, CMDB, identity, asset, and location systems • Write production-quality code for agents, microservices, orchestration jobs, and internal tooling • Build device telemetry and observability for real-time fleet health, compliance, and inventory reporting • Develop self-healing and remediation automations • Implement CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, testing, and release management practices • Prototype and harden capabilities before transition to Endpoint Engineering and Operations • Lead safe fleetwide application deployments and provide architectural oversight for device deployment, refresh, migration, and acquisition integration programs • Design zero-touch provisioning, imaging, and enrollment workflows • Define integration playbooks for acquired practices and new-build locations • Extend fleet management, monitoring, and patching standards to clinical workstations and connected devices • Design management approaches for constrained or vendor-controlled clinical endpoints • Ensure designs support HIPAA safeguards and protected health information handling • Serve as final escalation point for complex cross-domain technical issues • Mentor engineers in system design, software engineering, automation, and documentation • Participate in cross-functional design and readiness reviews • Translate technical direction into recommendations and trade-offs for leadership • Provide architectural direction to Endpoint Engineering, Implementation, and Field Support teams

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) • 10+ years in systems architecture, platform engineering, or software engineering roles • Significant experience designing and operating device fleet management and monitoring systems at enterprise scale across a highly distributed, multi-site footprint • Experience with endpoint agent architecture and lifecycle • Production code experience in .NET/C#, Go, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript • Experience designing and delivering distributed, service-oriented systems, REST/gRPC APIs, message queues, event-driven patterns, relational and time-series data stores, caching, and secure secrets management • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, MECM/SCCM, and JAMF • Monitoring and observability experience, including metrics, logging, alerting design, and alert-fatigue management • Cloud platform experience; Azure and GCP preferred, AWS acceptable • Experience with containerization and infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform • Knowledge of EDR, disk encryption, patch and vulnerability management, hardening baselines, and compliance reporting • Windows and macOS internals, mobile and appliance device management, and PowerShell scripting • Networking knowledge including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, SD-WAN, proxy/firewall traversal, and bandwidth-constrained site behavior • Data modeling and reporting for asset, inventory, and compliance data • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience • Occasional after-hours or weekend work for major deployments, migrations, and critical escalations • Occasional travel of less than 10%
