📋 Description

• Develop, maintain, and support administrative enterprise applications used throughout the University of Maine System • Design, develop, test, implement, document, and maintain application functionality and enhancements • Troubleshoot application and production issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions • Support reliable and secure production application environments, including on-call support as needed • Apply secure coding, testing, documentation, version-control, and application development standards • Collaborate with technical teams, business analysts, process owners, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions • Support application upgrades and work with vendors and other technical partners • Develop technical documentation, share knowledge with team members, and stay current with programming tools, technologies, and development practices

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience • One to three years of experience as a programmer in application development or operational support capacity • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, test, document, maintain, and enhance computer-based applications • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills • Familiarity with secure coding practices, development standards, and application security principles • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete moderately complex assignments with a degree of independence • Ability to learn and apply new programming languages, tools, technologies, and development practices • U.S. work authorization that does not require employer sponsorship now or in the future • Experience with higher education or another complex enterprise environment preferred • Experience with database-driven or secure web application development preferred • Experience with PeopleSoft and related Oracle database and development technologies preferred • Experience with SQL and relational database systems preferred • Experience with PeopleCode, Application Engine, Application Packages, SQR, or Query preferred • Experience with Java, PHP, Python, or similar programming or scripting languages preferred • Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS preferred • Experience with UNIX/Linux environments and scripting languages preferred
