Description

• Lead the OfferUp Communications Team responsible for Chat and Notifications • Lead a team of backend/frontend engineers • Foster an engineering culture focused on learning and rapid validation of ideas • Support career growth and development of engineers • Collaborate with colleagues from various departments • Recruit new engineers to grow and expand teams • Guide team vision, prioritization, and execution • Incubate new ideas and create engineering roadmap • Ensure simple and robust technical solutions for complex business problems • Determine compensation and benefits based on performance • Eligible for health insurance, retirement savings, life insurance, and paid time off

Requirements

• 4+ years managing a team of 5+ software engineers • 8+ years professional software engineering experience with full-stack development • Deep understanding of system design, data structures, algorithms • Experience with large-scale distributed systems and database systems • Strong product mindset and experience delivering complex projects • Familiarity with running A/B tests and analyzing data • BS or MS in Computer Science or related discipline • Eligible to work in the United States • Helpful: experience with cloud infrastructure, messaging apps, data, Java, Javascript, Typescript
