📋 Description

• Own the entire people function end to end as the first and only HR hire • Run monthly and semi-monthly payroll and benefits cycles • Keep contractor and employee payments accurate and on time • Handle payroll changes, corrections, and records • Manage full-cycle hiring, including job posts, sourcing, screening, scheduling, offers, and closing • Manage onboarding and offboarding, including contracts, accounts, equipment, first-week plans, and exit checklists • Manage HR operations, including employee files, PTO tracking, policy documents, handbook, and performance review cadence • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, issues, and sensitive matters • Maintain compliance with US employment requirements and flag risks

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 4 years in HR, with at least 2 of those in a generalist or manager role where you handled both payroll and hiring • Experience working for a US-based DTC or ecommerce brand; this is a hard requirement • Hands-on experience running payroll through a US platform such as Gusto, Rippling, Wise, or Deel • Full-cycle recruiting experience, including sourcing your own candidates • Working knowledge of US employment basics: classification, exempt vs non-exempt, offer letters, and standard state-level requirements • Comfortable being the only HR person and working independently • Strong headhunting experience • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills • E-commerce experience is a plus
