Solutions Engineer

Local expert responsible for operational procedures and availability for level three projects.

• Coordinate and own all issues escalated beyond level 2
• Work effectively with cross functional teams, mentoring and providing technical leadership to level 2 team members

• Concentration in the areas of ESXi, vCenter & vCloud with NSX-T
• Backup, Replication, AD and Storage.
• Servers (ESXi Host) configuration, deployment and management of physical servers and chassis/blades solutions like HPe, Cisco, Lenovo and Dell.
• Coordinate and own level 3 projects and implementations pertaining to your assigned products/systems
• Produce documentation for system deployment, operation and support
• Provide complex system problem support, troubleshooting and problem analysis for different hardware and software components within ThinkOn systems
• Maintain close interactions with all technical and project related teams within ThinkOn, customers and vendors
• System deployment, integration and support activities for PDLC
• Provide on call support for production systems

Sr. Solutions Engineer - VMware (Remote - North Bay Residents Only)

Manage and ensure operational stability for Object Storage Infrastructure.

• Direct oversight and technical ownership of our Global Object Storage Platform and technical documentation
• Ability to transform technical processes, procedures, and troubleshooting and relay into digestible Confluence knowledge that can be followed by junior Systems Administrators to reduce escalations, and enhance first-contact incident closure rate
• Decommission and migration planning, documentation, and execution from competing Object Storage Platforms to HCPCS
• Proactive recommendations of necessary compute and capacity upgrades, as well as cluster node additions to maintain and improve platform stability, in alignment with vendor recommendations
• Coordination with datacentre technicians to deploy HPE, Lenovo, and Dell rackmount blades
• Installation and configuration of new blades with RedHat Enterprise Linux OS, and Hitachi Content Platform for Cloud Scale software stack
• Analysis of Grafana, Prometheus dashboards, and Hitachi Ops Analyzer to identify negative trends and proactively address them
• Lead problem management efforts by offering RCA in cooperation with vendor support channels.
• Actively participate in ongoing efforts to Identify and recommend alert tuning to further enhance Zabbix monitoring and potentially reduce false positives
• Provide on call support in rotation for production Object Storage platform
