📋 Description

• Lead the maintenance, modernization, and ongoing evolution of a mission-critical application supporting Allstate Dealer Services • Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs supporting enterprise payment solutions • Contribute to architecture, technical direction, and development of scalable microservices and distributed systems • Own applications in production and monitor, troubleshoot, and support them • Participate in Agile ceremonies including iteration planning, standups, and retrospectives • Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, business, and other stakeholders to deliver customer-focused, high-quality solutions • Apply clean code, test-driven development, code reviews, and automated testing • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes • Ensure reliability, scalability, security, performance, coding standards, and continuous platform improvement

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of software development experience using C# and the .NET framework • Experience designing and building REST APIs, including Swagger/OpenAPI documentation, versioning, testing, and service integration patterns • Strong understanding of software development concepts, object-oriented design principles, and modern engineering practices • Knowledge of relational database design, indexing strategies, query optimization, and SQL development • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, MSTest, or equivalent • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps methodologies using GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, SonarQube, or similar technologies • Experience developing and supporting production services and implementing observability using Datadog or equivalent monitoring solutions • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker • Familiarity with modernizing applications and services toward current .NET platforms, including .NET 8 • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum or XP work environment, or equivalent • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Preferred: Experience with .NET Core and modern .NET application development patterns • Preferred: Experience with Java and enterprise frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, or related technologies • Preferred: Experience building and operating high-traffic distributed systems • Preferred: Experience with quality and security scanning tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, Contrast, or similar technologies • Preferred: Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies • Preferred: Practical cloud experience with AWS, PCF, Azure, or other cloud platforms and application performance monitoring tools • 5 or more years of experience preferred • Must submit to a background investigation • Generally, Allstate does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position • Dedicated, private workspace free from distractions when working from home • Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
