📋 Description

• Own and optimize Langfuse’s ingestion pipeline for throughput, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency • Design ClickHouse schemas and optimize merge strategies, batch inserts, and analytical queries • Build backend abstractions and infrastructure-heavy features such as LLM-as-a-Judge, scalable alerting, client-code execution, and batch dataset operations • Operate Langfuse Cloud across multiple production environments • Support deployments ranging from Docker Compose to enterprise-grade Helm charts • Run load tests against production data to validate schema, migration, and query optimizations • Prototype table designs, run them in parallel on real traffic, and compare performance before committing • Plan infrastructure for 10x scale and evolving agent observability and real-time evaluation needs • Collaborate with the ClickHouse database engineering team and users on scaling challenges

🎯 Requirements

• Strong backend engineering skills with interest in database internals, query optimization, and distributed systems • Experience with analytical databases, data pipelines, or high-throughput event processing • ClickHouse experience is a plus but not required • Comfortable reading and writing TypeScript and SQL • Interest in open source software • Genuine enjoyment talking to users about their scaling challenges • Ability to self-organize and form strong opinions about what to build and how to ship it • Ability to thrive in a small, accountable team • CS or quantitative degree preferred • Bonus: experience with ClickHouse, other OLAP databases, or observability infrastructure • Bonus: former founder experience • Bonus: background building data-intensive systems at scale
