📋 Description

• Set technical direction for a cloud-native, AWS-based platform integrating data and services from multiple domains • Shape architecture and engineering standards across the platform • Guide multiple engineers and squads toward a shared technical vision • Represent platform technical strategy to cross-functional and cross-domain stakeholders • Develop platform-wide technical strategy based on business processes and domains served by the BAWP UI • Evaluate complex cross-team feature requests, estimate effort, and drive technical planning • Define, document, and evolve architectural patterns and API contracts • Lead peer code and design reviews across teams • Architect and build scalable, secure full-stack solutions using React with TypeScript and AWS-native services • Design APIs and data integration layers handling latency, partial failures, and caching • Build reusable front-end components and shared modules using micro-frontend or equivalent patterns • Design and implement AWS cloud-native architectures • Establish automation, observability, monitoring, telemetry, and operational readiness standards • Ensure platform-wide scalability, data integrity, security, availability, and reliability • Own automated end-to-end and UI testing strategy • Drive performance optimization and establish benchmarks • Solve complex technical problems and improve system design • Mentor engineers, including senior engineers • Evaluate and introduce cloud, front-end, and test automation technologies • Communicate technical strategy, trade-offs, and architectural decisions • Partner with product, operations, security, QA, and domain teams • Lead platform readiness, documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives • Embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines • Foster ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across engineering

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting scalable, cloud-native full-stack applications • 5+ years of experience building modern front-end applications using TypeScript and React • Proven experience setting technical direction and standards across multiple teams or a platform • Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, preferably TypeScript, building APIs and data integration layers at scale • Deep experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, S3, Step Functions, EC2, ECS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and DynamoDB • Experience integrating and aggregating data and content from multiple independent backend/domain services into a single UI • Strong knowledge of distributed cloud infrastructure and microservices architecture • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, including AWS CDK, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, and Backstage • Experience building responsive, secure, high-performance UIs using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS • Familiarity with micro-frontend architectures such as Module Federation and shared shell/component patterns • Experience establishing automated end-to-end and UI testing frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines • Diligence in peer code review, particularly reviewing AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability • Ability to mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction without direct management authority • Strong focus on scalability, data integrity, reliability, and quality engineering practices • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Ability to lead complex, cross-team initiatives in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills • Learner’s mindset, commitment to growth, and ability to apply new digital tools independently • Collaborative and empathetic approach
