📋 Description

• Write control plane and data plane software for Network Products • Develop APIs • Troubleshoot and improve the customer experience • Help the team own product offerings end-to-end • Lead the design, implementation, testing, and optimization of scalable services and tools • Solve performance and monitoring problems • Collaborate with Networking teams and teams across the company to build products and services for developers • Support existing products and contribute creative solutions to pain points • Improve tooling and processes for robust, mission-critical ecosystem components • Establish development and architecture best practices • Use technologies including Go, Consul, Kafka, SQL, Chef, Git, Jira, gRPC, Prometheus, Grafana, Lightstep, Docker, DNS, eBPF, XDP, and Kubernetes • Mentor other engineers within Networking

🎯 Requirements

• Significant experience as a software architect and lead developer building scalable, real-time, and distributed systems • Significant experience with Go programming language and unit tests • Domain knowledge of the Networking stack and eagerness to learn more • Experience leading work across multiple teams to build API contracts • Experience with cloud development, containerization, and virtualization • Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) • Some experience with data plane programming such as eBPF and XDP • Record of creating improvements in stability, performance, and scalability across major business-critical systems • Record of automating delivery of high-quality, well-tested, production-ready software from development through production operation • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or relevant and equivalent experience • Bonus: Experience using gRPC to build robust distributed and high-demand systems • Bonus: Experience with Firewall, DNS, and Network Monitoring systems development • Bonus: Working knowledge of Temporal and Kafka
