• Develop and own program architecture and technical approach • Lead technical development projects in cooperation with Program Management • Serve as technical lead for programs and coordinate activities with internal engineers, vendors, and contractors • Identify and manage technical risks with the Program Manager • Manage technical requirements through traceability, decomposition, derivation, verification, and validation • Allocate and decompose high-level requirements into lower-level specifications for functional groups, components, and suppliers • Lead and mentor junior staff and contribute to development of the technical team • Serve as a technical leader contributing to engineering strategy and team growth • Research and recommend investments or changes in technology, toolsets, procedures, equipment, and systems • Communicate and collaborate with customers and suppliers during design development • Review and approve documentation for transition from prototype to production • Provide engineering support to troubleshoot and diagnose non-performing products, including RCCA and lessons learned • Serve as primary technical point of contact for clients • Manage a multidisciplinary project team of thermal analysis, installation, mechanical design and analysis, reliability, controls, electronics, software, and testing subject matter experts
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Systems Engineering, preferably within Thermal Management Systems • Working knowledge of aerospace technical disciplines including requirements management, technical verification and validation methodologies, mechanical design, materials, modeling/documentation, structural analysis, thermal fluid sciences, electrical systems, system controls, embedded controls, development testing and analysis, and qualification analysis and testing • Understanding of aerospace requirements management methodologies and processes, including traceability, decomposition, derivation, verification, and validation • Functional understanding of major aircraft systems, including environmental control systems, powerplant, electrical, hydraulics, controls, avionics, power generation, and structures • Experience with Vapor Cycle Systems, Liquid Cooling Systems and/or Air Cycle Systems • Experience with standard components in VCS, LCS, and ACS such as heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, valves, motor and motor controllers, and water collectors/separators • Familiarity with environmental testing and qualification methods such as MIL-STD-810 and DO-160 • Experience with requirements management tools and model-based systems engineering tools and processes • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs • Established project management skills • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Must prove U.S. Person status: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, or granted asylee/refugee status • GE Aerospace will not sponsor employment visas
