📋 Description

• Develop and maintain backend microservices in Golang for authentication and authorization • Build scalable REST and gRPC APIs integrating IAM capabilities across Kong's product ecosystem • Deploy and manage services on AWS using Kubernetes • Implement secure, performant backend services handling high-volume traffic and enforcing access-control policies • Collaborate with senior engineers, security teams, product managers, and other engineering teams • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with unit, integration, and end-to-end tests • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture planning • Monitor and optimize service performance, reliability, and security using observability tools • Participate in on-call rotation for platform-service availability • Contribute to engineering excellence and security-first development

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend services and distributed systems • Strong proficiency in Golang and production microservices • Strong experience with API development and design using REST and gRPC • Experience building and deploying production microservices architectures • Hands-on experience with AWS services including EKS, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, and S3 • Experience with Kubernetes deployment, scaling, and containerized application management • Understanding of distributed systems and highly available, fault-tolerant services • Knowledge of backend security best practices, secure credential storage, and secret management • Experience with multi-tenancy • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions or Jenkins • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and data modeling • Computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and system design • Experience with GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools • Experience working with globally distributed teams • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for complex distributed systems • Eagerness to learn IAM technologies
