📋 Description

• Manage systems engineering resources and activities across one or more departments or organizational areas • Manage engineering resources focused on land mobile radio system deployments • Mentor and motivate engineering personnel • Lead engineering efforts on typical land mobile radio projects • Oversee departmental activities and implementation of new technologies and complex projects • Manage staffing levels, budgets, project labor quoting, and financial goals • Develop operational policies and delegate assignments • Facilitate cross-functional and inter-department collaboration • Support profitability and cost containment through project work, tool development, and functional management • Ensure customer satisfaction and quality of engineering deliverables • Drive productivity and professional growth of assigned employees • Interface with senior Motorola leadership, internal and external organizations, and governmental bodies • Coordinate activities through highly matrixed relationships • Handle senior-level internal and external customer relationships • Evaluate departmental problems and develop successful solutions • Manage activities involving complex legal, technology, or cultural requirements • Drive adoption of common specifications and standards • Guide and enable team members to achieve objectives

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline • 7+ years of engineering or relevant work experience in wireless communications and/or land mobile radio engineering • Must be able to obtain background clearance and CIJS certification as required by government customers • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely • Employer work permit sponsorship is not available • 25% to 50% travel required • Management experience coaching and mentoring direct reports • Extensive knowledge of products, technology, services, customer operations, and business complexities • Subject matter expertise in one or more technical or operational areas • Ability to lead complex land mobile radio projects and implement new technologies • Ability to manage staffing, budgets, project labor quoting, and financial goals • Ability to develop operational policies and successful solutions to complex problems • Ability to collaborate across departments, businesses, vendors, and governmental entities
