📋 Description

• Collaborate with Java development teams throughout product design and development to ensure optimal SQL Server usage for storage and transaction processing • Write, refine, and optimize T-SQL code for performance, reliability, and maintainability • Analyze complex requirements and translate them into efficient backend processes • Reverse-engineer legacy code and improve older T-SQL using newer techniques • Design and implement relational databases and structures • Develop storage design structures and data processing flows • Create documentation for new and existing code • Promote best practices, help define procedures, and support innovation and knowledge transfer across the organization • Work primarily independently under general supervision

🎯 Requirements

• 2-4+ years working as a database engineer or related role • Intermediate to Advanced level T-SQL experience, including query tuning and optimization • Experience with reporting platforms and translating business needs into functional and efficient T-SQL-driven reports • SQL Server Administration experience is a plus • ETL experience is a plus • Intimate knowledge of SSMS and working knowledge of other MS SQL Server Tools • Ability to work with differing workflows, including agile • Sound and demonstrable knowledge of database development best practices and coding standards • Experience with Source Control and workflow ticketing systems • Experience with IDERA for SQL Server tools, including Diagnostic Manager and Admin Toolset • Experience with SQL monitoring tools (Idera, SolarWinds, etc.) is a plus • Knowledge of or experience using advanced SQL Server functionality, including Service Broker, Resource Governor, temporal tables, Query Store, Always On, and Stretch Database • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent functional experience in the area • Occasional off-hour/evening/weekend and/or overtime availability
