📋 Description

• Join Northwestern Mutual’s growing Kubernetes Platform team • Develop, maintain, and support container and Kubernetes platforms • Enable hundreds of developers to deploy applications and infrastructure through Kubernetes and cloud technologies • Demonstrate technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers • Apply engineering standard methodologies to analyze and develop software solutions • Use coding standards, best practices, and automation capabilities to support users • Identify technical problems and develop software solutions and automation capabilities • Review, verify, and validate software code • Build and improve continuous integration and continuous development pipelines • Design, code, test, document, debug, and maintain modular and reusable software applications and services

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience • At least 4 years of working experience • 5+ years of professional IT experience • 3+ years' experience with AWS Cloud Services and containerized applications and container orchestration • 5+ years' experience with monitoring and performance management/tuning of systems • 5+ years' experience with networking and Linux based platforms • 5+ years' experience with modern programming and scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks such as Terraform and CloudFormation • Experience working with DevOps, CI/CD, GitOps, and Agile methodologies • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation using GitLab CI, Jenkins, CodePipeline, or CircleCI • Understanding of certificates, firewalls, vulnerability management, authentication, and authorization • Experience with unit testing • Experience with Linux and Windows, including installation, configuration, management, and CLI usage • AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes certification preferred • Proficiency in DevOps and Agile principles • Knowledge of cloud service platforms and delivery models • Proficiency in one or more programming languages • Ability to design, develop, test, document, and maintain software applications
