📋 Description

• Own engineering outcomes across PatientPoint’s device product areas: field operations tooling, exam-room technology, waiting-room displays, and back-office systems • Manage senior Engineering Leads and individual-contributor engineers, including hiring, performance, and career growth • Step into technical-direction responsibilities where needed • Stay close to the code, lead code reviews, contribute directly, and guide technical best practices • Champion AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices and AI-powered product capabilities • Coordinate priorities and dependencies across three or more concurrently active product areas • Contribute to cross-organization architecture discussions, including ARB/RFCs • Help engineers and Engineering Leads grow in their roles and career paths • Partner with Product and Design leads on execution • Manage blended onshore and offshore teams of full-time and contract engineers • Escalate organizational, staffing, and resourcing needs to engineering leadership

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading engineers or engineering teams • Recent hands-on technical involvement within the last 1–2 years • Current hands-on experience with native Android development using Kotlin and modern Android development practices • Experience with AOSP, customized Android ROMs, rooted or kiosk-mode Android devices, APK distribution, or Android OS upgrade programs • Experience with Android device-platform development beyond traditional consumer mobile applications • Experience with Java in addition to Kotlin • Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and React-based front-end development • Experience building software for connected, managed, or remotely deployed devices • Experience leading engineers across multiple concurrent products, workstreams, or technical domains • Experience managing and developing engineers, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and career development • Strong understanding of deployed-device constraints, including limited memory, storage, or processing power; intermittent connectivity; remote software updates; and multiple hardware or OS generations • Experience supporting remotely deployed device fleets, including staged releases, fleet-health monitoring, remote troubleshooting, and software update or rollback strategies • Experience with backend technologies supporting device fleets, such as Kotlin/JVM services, Node.js, serverless architectures, or similar microservice environments • Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar tools • Working knowledge of cloud-based services and APIs supporting connected-device applications • Experience managing blended teams of full-time employees and contractors • Candidates will complete a coding assessment as part of the interview process
