📋 Description

• Help build the next version of Reddit’s media web experience. • Define technical components for delivering video and audio content at Reddit. • Focus on the web media player and APIs powering seamless, low-latency playback experiences and interactive tools. • Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering counterparts to execute product and business strategy. • Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch. • Design and implement end-to-end full-stack solutions using React and TypeScript for web UI components and Go and Python for backend APIs. • Review code and design documents and provide feedback on product specifications and mocks. • Collaborate with client and platform engineers to improve media performance across Reddit globally. • Contribute to developer workflow standards and recommend best practices. • Mentor junior engineers and help grow their technical expertise.

🎯 Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience. • 3+ years of software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages; Go, Python, Rust, Ruby. • Proficiency in modern web development technologies (JavaScript, React, Next.js, TypeScript) and experience translating complex UI/UX designs into scalable web applications. • Experienced with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, gRPC, Thrift basics, and the ability to design and implement maintainable APIs. • Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and to deliver projects on schedule. • Excellent communication skills. • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams in a fully remote environment and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
