📋 Description

• Maintain a distributed, global ecosystem of thousands of cloud instances, containerized workflows, serverless applications, Linux servers, and associated infrastructure supporting billions of requests daily • Maintain transactional database infrastructure using MySQL, PostgreSQL, RDS, and Aurora • Support NoSQL data storage engines such as DynamoDB and MongoDB • Build and support data stream processing with Kinesis or Kafka • Support data engineering and big data toolchains such as Spark • Support production systems in a 24x7x365 environment, including on-call responsibilities • Provide architectural and operational support to software engineers • Support software and data engineering teams and guide operational best practices • Implement and oversee security programs including vulnerability remediation, patch management, IDS/IPS, penetration testing, and coordination with the corporate InfoSec team • Support development-to-production code deployment pipelines for production applications • Provide tooling and guidance for monitoring and observability best practices • Assist development teams with troubleshooting

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of systems/platform engineering experience • Experience building globally-distributed systems • Strong understanding of security best practices • Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform and CloudFormation • Branching and merge-based source code configuration management with Git and GitHub • Configuration management experience with Chef or Ansible • Experience with container-based architectures including Docker and Kubernetes • Proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages such as TypeScript, Go, Python, PHP, Ruby, or Java • Experience with AWS and other cloud infrastructure platforms • Comfortable writing SQL queries and analyzing query performance • Comfortable learning and working with new technologies in an ever-changing environment • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Strong time management skills and a self-driven work ethic
