• Collaborate with the Cloud Center of Excellence, Cloud Architects, engineers, and stakeholders to develop and implement cloud solutions • Provide hands-on implementation and support of cloud solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure and systems for performance, scalability, security, availability, and reliability • Design, deploy, and support Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, including Compute Engine, networking, and storage • Build and maintain cloud landing zones and operating models • Develop automation scripts, templates, and frameworks for provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operations • Apply Infrastructure as Code and platform automation tools including Azure Arc, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, and Terraform • Monitor cloud environments and performance, analyze cost and performance metrics, troubleshoot incidents, and implement enhancements • Implement the division's cloud vision, strategy, and sustainable architectural solutions • Provide subject matter expertise and develop tailored solutions for technical challenges • Support transition of products from development through sustainable production deployment • Engage division leaders and external partners on architectural solutions • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and lead adoption efforts when appropriate • Perform hands-on implementation and development, including prototyping and coding • Evaluate multi-cloud capabilities and maintain a catalog of cloud offerings • Support containerized workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine, Kubernetes, and OpenShift • Support cloud governance, security, and compliance initiatives • Assist with cloud migrations and workload onboarding • Support AI/ML and data platform initiatives through cloud infrastructure and services • Implement cloud automation, standardization, and cost optimization practices • Maintain operational runbooks, technical documentation, and cloud operations resources
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline • Additional experience or relevant certifications may offset some or all of education requirements • Five years of experience working in areas of computer systems and Infrastructure • Two years of experience specializing in cloud engineering • Demonstrated technical judgment with ability to guide decisions across systems, scale, performance, security, fault tolerance, and related areas • Experience with and significant knowledge of at least one cloud platform • Experience working within small to medium sized cloud engineering teams • Ability to work across organizations and multiple stakeholders • Must reside in Ohio or Florida • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information • Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required • Must comply with Cleveland Clinic's influenza prevention program, including annual vaccination or an approved exemption • All offers of employment are followed by testing for controlled substances • Preferred: ITIL Foundations certification • Preferred: Microsoft Azure administration and architecture experience • Preferred: Azure Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, ExpressRoute, AKS, Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, PowerShell, and scripting experience • Preferred Azure certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500, or Terraform Associate • Preferred: Five+ years of dedicated enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure infrastructure engineering experience in a remote or distributed team environment • Preferred: Azure VMs, VNets, Storage, Azure AD/Entra ID, App Services, Functions, AKS, and PaaS databases • Preferred: Secure, scalable, and cost-efficient Azure IaaS, PaaS, and serverless architecture design • Preferred: Advanced Terraform proficiency, including complex modules, remote state backends, and configuration drift resolution • Preferred: Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, routing, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, VPN/ExpressRoute, and private endpoints • Preferred: Docker and AKS, with cloud-native networking knowledge • Preferred: Automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI • Preferred: Advanced PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bash, or Python scripting and automation • Preferred: Azure security and governance solutions, including Key Vault, private endpoints, Azure Policy, identity, RBAC, Conditional Access, PIM, encryption, and governance frameworks • Preferred: Monitoring and observability tools including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Prometheus, or Grafana • Preferred: Excellent asynchronous communication and documentation skills
