📋 Description

• Lead teams building cloud platform products that enable and support agentic workloads • Own delivery from roadmap and design through release and ongoing operation • Collaborate with product management, UX, architecture, and engineering and non-engineering consuming teams • Define SLOs, observability, alerting, runbooks, and on-call readiness with Platform Reliability Engineering • Ensure quality, security, and change-control standards are met • Guide design and development of services on Google Cloud and GKE using infrastructure as code and CI/CD • Drive platform adoption through documentation, self-service workflows, and audience-specific guardrails • Establish security, governance, and cost guardrails for non-engineering teams • Write code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring, and testing; participate in design and code reviews • Lead review board sessions and drive enterprise consistency • Answer platform questions and serve as a technical escalation point • Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews • Monitor adoption and feedback and turn findings into product improvements • Provide production application support • Lead, mentor, coach, attract, retain, and develop Software Engineers • Conduct annual and mid-year reviews • Manage team capacity, priorities, and workload across multiple products • Foster collaboration and expose engineers to career-development opportunities • Promote modern software development practices, including AI-assisted development • Participate in communities of practice • Learn new technologies and best practices in cloud platforms, agentic AI, and platform engineering • Build relationships with technology leaders to learn best practices

🎯 Requirements

• Must be eighteen years of age or older • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States • Mastery of an object oriented programming language, preferably Go • Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes (GKE) in a production environment • Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a job-related field • Minimum 5 years of experience • 5-7 years of relevant work experience, including experience leading or managing engineers • Leadership experience and a strong technology mindset • Mastery of Golang for building cloud-native services, APIs, and tooling • Mastery of Google Cloud, including GKE, IAM, networking, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage • Mastery of infrastructure as code and GitOps practices, including Terraform, Helm, and Argo CD • Mastery of modern CI/CD and progressive delivery pipelines • Experience building platforms or products enabling agentic and AI workloads • Experience designing platforms, APIs, and self-service workflows with excellent documentation and user experience • Proficiency in observability practices, including metrics, logging, tracing, SLOs, and alerting • Proficiency in production support, incident management, and reliability engineering • Proficiency in cloud security fundamentals, including identity, secrets management, and network policy • Proficiency in troubleshooting and issue resolution • Experience guiding junior team members through Software Engineering fundamentals • Experience managing and growing team members • Experience balancing workloads across teams and managing multiple products • Experience translating high-level strategy to tactical execution • AI-driven thinking, including applying AI and agentic workflows to accelerate engineering • Proficiency in supporting a 24x7 retail operation • Must be able to work in a professional setting • Google Cloud Professional certifications are a plus
