📋 Description

• Improve the performance, reliability, security, and maintainability of ImageTrend product databases • Review SQL queries, stored procedures, schema changes, and database deployment scripts before application releases • Assess execution plans and analyze query performance • Monitor production query performance and identify regressions, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities • Partner with developers and DBAs to rewrite and tune queries and improve data-access patterns • Recommend, test, and implement indexing strategies • Provide database design guidance for tables, keys, constraints, partitioning, data types, indexing, and data distribution • Support performance testing and post-release validation • Coach developers on SQL development and database performance best practices • Monitor and maintain production and non-production database health, availability, security, capacity, and reliability • Administer and support SQL Server and Azure data platforms, including Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, Hyperscale, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Databricks • Support backup and recovery, disaster recovery, high availability, maintenance, patching, and recovery validation • Investigate database incidents including performance degradation, blocking, deadlocks, resource saturation, failed jobs, connectivity, storage, and data integrity issues • Automate database maintenance, monitoring, validation, and reporting • Maintain technical documentation for database configurations, operational procedures, performance decisions, and recovery processes • Support database security, access controls, encryption, audits, compliance, and HIPAA-related controls • Contribute to database capacity planning and cost optimization • Participate in an on-call rotation after the initial training period • Travel to orientation, industry or company events, training opportunities, or onsite meetings as required

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience • Proven professional experience as a Database Developer or similar role supporting enterprise software, SaaS applications, cloud-based solutions, database administration, performance engineering, data integration, or related technology environments • Advanced SQL proficiency with experience reviewing, troubleshooting, optimizing, and tuning complex queries, stored procedures, and database workloads • Experience interpreting SQL Server execution plans and diagnosing performance issues involving indexing, statistics, blocking, deadlocks, CPU, memory, storage, and I/O bottlenecks • Experience designing, evaluating, and implementing indexing strategies for transactional and analytical workloads • Experience supporting production database environments and partnering with software development, infrastructure, operations, and database administration teams • Working knowledge of database security, access controls, encryption, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, high-availability solutions, data integrity practices, and regulatory compliance requirements • Experience with SQL Server, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Hyperscale, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Query Store, and related monitoring or diagnostic tools • Experience supporting ETL/ELT processes, data warehouses, lakehouse architectures, data lakes, dimensional modeling, star-schema designs, and large-scale datasets • Experience automating database administration, monitoring, maintenance, validation, and reporting using PowerShell, T-SQL, CI/CD pipelines, scripting languages, or related tools • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and time management skills • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Ability to maintain discretion with proprietary and confidential information • Enthusiasm for learning and expanding knowledge or skills • Strong work ethic, integrity, honesty, collaboration, and team orientation • Ability to travel as required, up to 10%
