📋 Description

• Define cloud-native architecture patterns for the enterprise across compute, networking, storage, security, identity, and AI/ML workload infrastructure on AWS • Establish and evolve cloud architecture standards, guardrails, and reference architectures • Evaluate AWS services, IaC patterns, and platform capabilities and make build-versus-buy-versus-configure decisions • Design multi-account AWS organization structures, landing zones, and network topologies for healthcare compliance requirements including HIPAA and SOC 2 • Architect cost-efficient, right-sized infrastructure using FinOps principles • Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Pulumi (TypeScript/Python), with AWS CDK where appropriate • Prototype cloud infrastructure end-to-end for new initiatives • Contribute production-quality Pulumi stacks to IaC repositories • Work with engineering teams during delivery, review pull requests, unblock infrastructure decisions, and ensure architectural fidelity through deployment • Produce handoff packages including architecture diagrams, IaC repositories, runbooks, security and compliance documentation, and acceptance criteria • Provide technical direction to the offshore Cloud & Infrastructure Solutions Delivery Architect • Partner with the Director of Architecture on cloud strategy, roadmap, and investment decisions • Engage business stakeholders to translate workload requirements into cloud architecture recommendations • Share architecture patterns, lead cloud-focused guilds or working groups, and build team cloud capability • Monitor AWS service developments and healthcare compliance requirements and surface relevant changes to architecture and engineering leadership

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered • Seven (7) or more years of progressively responsible experience in cloud architecture or cloud engineering, with the majority of recent experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale AWS solutions • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise AWS cloud platforms, including multi-account strategies, cloud governance, and Infrastructure as Code • Experience developing cloud platforms within regulated industries, such as healthcare or other highly regulated environments, preferred • Experience working in embedded architecture or product delivery teams preferred • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certifications preferred • Experience with AWS CDK, AI/ML infrastructure, healthcare data platforms, and FinOps tools preferred • Expert knowledge of AWS cloud technologies, including compute, networking, storage, and security services • Advanced knowledge of cloud-native architecture principles, enterprise platform design, and multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and Control Tower • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, including Pulumi (TypeScript or Python), AWS CDK, Git-based development workflows, modular architecture, state management, policy-as-code, and drift detection • Demonstrated ability to design, prototype, and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions • Strong understanding of cloud governance, security, compliance, and architecture best practices, including HIPAA, SOC 2, or similar compliance frameworks • Knowledge of cloud migration strategies, cloud platform modernization, and enterprise architecture standards • Ability to evaluate emerging cloud technologies, tools, and services and recommend innovative, cost-effective solutions • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and technical decision-making skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to develop architecture documentation, technical standards, and implementation guidance • Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentor architects and engineers, and collaborate across cross-functional teams • Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy while managing multiple priorities and complex technical initiatives • Preferred knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure on AWS, FinOps practices and cost optimization tools, healthcare interoperability standards, and embedded architecture delivery models
