📋 Description

• Develop new features focused on optimizing performance and efficiency • Collaborate with the team to implement scalable solutions and enhance application performance • Identify and act on opportunities to improve service reliability • Contribute to NRDB, New Relic’s proprietary telemetry database technology • Participate in pager rotation and occasionally be on-call to respond to system failures • Own software quality and reliability from top to bottom

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience in distributed SaaS software development • Proficiency in Java programming • Expertise with algorithms and data structures • Experience building high-throughput software following best practices • Deeper understanding of distributed systems and their core challenges • Experience using the command line to manage, investigate, and fix issues • Experience with databases such as MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis, and MongoDB • Familiarity with public cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP • Familiarity with Kubernetes or Docker • Understanding of Computer Science fundamentals • Visa sponsorship is not available • Ability to pass a criminal background check • Ability to verify identity and eligibility to work and complete employment eligibility verification • Potential requirement to pass an export compliance assessment • Bonus: familiarity with networks and load-balancing • Bonus: familiarity with modern observability and alerting patterns • Bonus: familiarity with Java Flight Recorder for debugging and troubleshooting • Bonus: experience working in distributed teams and asynchronously
