📋 Description

• Design, develop, and deploy backend services and features using Ruby on Rails • Own well-scoped backend work end-to-end • Design and architect scalable systems and databases • Collaborate with product managers, front-end engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into tested code • Implement core platform features with attention to performance, reliability, and maintainability • Leverage and extend AI tooling to accelerate backend delivery • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback • Mentor peers • Build automated test coverage and maintain CI/CD pipelines • Troubleshoot and debug production issues • Own and contribute to integrations with pharmaceutical partners, hubs, and pharmacies

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience • 5+ years of experience in backend software development • Proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails • Solid understanding of relational databases, including PostgreSQL schema design and efficient queries • Experience designing and consuming JSON APIs • Experience with backend testing frameworks • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines • Experience building background jobs with Redis and Sidekiq • Expertise in scalable backend systems • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills • Clear communication and ability to articulate technical decisions and trade-offs • Strong understanding of security, including PHI, authentication, and safe production changes
