📋 Description

• Own architecture for major Internal Platforms services, integrations, and data flows from problem definition through production operation • Lead complex cross-functional technical designs, define trade-offs, and drive alignment • Break ambiguous department-level problems into technical plans and workstreams • Evaluate technologies, patterns, vendors, and engineering design approaches • Establish standards for API design, testing, observability, deployment, and integrations • Identify technical debt and reliability risks and sequence remediation • Design, build, maintain, and review Java backend services using Spring Boot or similar frameworks • Solve high-throughput event processing, multi-system integration, data integrity, and cross-service production issues • Diagnose root causes and implement durable fixes and instrumentation • Contribute to internal web applications and user interfaces backed by Java services • Mentor and coach engineers, onboard new team members, and create growth opportunities • Produce documentation, runbooks, and design records • Partner with Product, Operations, Support, Marketing, Risk, Compliance, Data, and engineering teams • Drive delivery scope, estimates, unblocking, and outcomes • Own third-party and SaaS integration architecture, including REST APIs, platform events, middleware, data ownership, consistency, and failure handling • Own production health, SLOs, alerting, on-call quality, incident response, and post-incident follow-through • Improve CI/CD, test automation, release safety, and developer productivity

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in Java • Demonstrated ownership of architecture and delivery of complex production systems spanning multiple teams or functions • Strong experience designing APIs and integrating distributed systems • Experience operating with minimal guidance on ambiguous problems through production • Experience mentoring engineers and raising technical standards • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences • Experience with Git-based workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines • Experience operating production services, including on-call ownership and incident response • Preferred: event-driven architectures such as Kafka; cloud environments, especially AWS, including infrastructure-as-code; highly available or regulated systems; internal web UIs/tooling; AI model or agent platforms; AI-powered coding assistants • Nice to have: Salesforce integration exposure and Salesforce certifications
