📋 Description

• Lead the two Infrastructure teams responsible for Delivery (CI/CD, GitOps, and the developer platform) and Compute (Kubernetes, EC2) • Run 1:1s, set clear expectations, give candid feedback, and own performance and career development • Handle management and coordination work so staff engineers can focus on architecture, technical collaboration, and difficult technical problems • Collaborate with other Platform Engineering Managers across the platform domain • Drive operational efficiency for the platform • Complete legacy platform retirement and coordinate migrations across R&D domains • Keep risks visible to leadership and ensure post-migration cleanup has clear owners • Run the EKS fleet predictably, including upgrades, capacity work, and partner notifications • Treat engineers as customers through defaults, templates, documentation, and AI-assisted tooling • Lead incident response and learning for delivery and compute • Partner with Security on PCI DSS controls for payments workloads • Establish roadmaps, execute platform initiatives, reduce interrupt load, and support engineer growth

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years managing engineers on platform, infrastructure, or developer-productivity teams • Experience leading senior and staff-level engineers • Sound technical judgment in Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), and in CI/CD and GitOps delivery • Track record of delivering cross-team platform migrations or adoption programs, including managing dependencies across many teams and communicating risk to leadership • Experience owning production reliability: on-call health, incident response, and systemic follow-through • Clear, direct communication with engineers, peer leaders, and non-technical stakeholders • Helpful, not required: hands-on experience with Argo CD, GitHub Actions, Karpenter, Kyverno, or Backstage • Helpful, not required: experience building internal developer platforms with a product mindset: golden paths, self-service, and developer experience metrics • Helpful, not required: experience in a PCI DSS or similarly regulated environment • Helpful, not required: experience applying AI tools to developer workflows or platform operations • Helpful, not required: experience leading a team distributed across US and European time zones, or a clear plan for doing it well • For U.S. based roles, work authorization in the U.S. is required • Visa sponsorship is not available for this role
