📋 Description

• Design, build, test, and maintain core software used by customers • Take ownership of a defined area of the codebase • Ship production-grade Ruby on Rails features end to end • Write and review code • Design data models • Support and grow a team of 1–3 junior engineers • Partner with product managers to complete projects and develop talent • Operate with initiative in a small, fast-moving startup team • Refactor code and apply careful data design • Maintain disciplined testing practices • Use AI development tools such as Claude Code or Codex to accelerate development

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience as a mid-level engineer at a fast-growing technology company • Solid working experience with most of: Ruby on Rails, Stimulus, JavaScript, Bootstrap, CSS3, Hotwire/Turbo, RSpec, ViewComponent, SQL/Postgres, Git, and SQL reporting tools • Track record of thoughtful refactoring, careful data design, and disciplined testing • Experience evaluating and incorporating third-party software and APIs • Strong hands-on experience with Claude Code, Codex, or similar AI development tools • Familiarity with underlying AI models to select appropriate tools • Familiarity with Agile methodologies • Experience with Terraform, AWS, and/or Google Cloud is a bonus • Experience building HIPAA-regulated products with PHI is a bonus • Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture is a bonus
