📋 Description

• Develop, maintain, and optimize advanced SQL queries, scripts, and transformation logic in SQL Server • Support data extraction, validation, reconciliation, and analysis across large clinical and operational datasets • Analyze healthcare data from multiple systems, identify trends and anomalies, and develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations • Use Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and related business intelligence tools for program reporting and decision-making • Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and program stakeholders on data flows, source-to-target mappings, transformation requirements, and data models • Develop and maintain data quality monitoring processes, validation routines, and reconciliation reports • Assess data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness during migration and EHR modernization • Investigate data discrepancies, perform exploratory data analysis and root cause investigations, and document findings • Maintain data dictionaries, mapping specifications, runbooks, validation protocols, and other technical documentation • Support recurring reporting deliverables • Evaluate AI-assisted tools for SQL optimization, automated data quality checks, anomaly detection, and technical documentation • Validate generated outputs and maintain data security and quality standards • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and project success

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or another engineering or technical discipline, or eight (8) years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience • Strong hands-on experience developing advanced SQL queries, scripts, and data extraction processes using Microsoft SQL Server • Experience working with large, complex datasets and optimizing query performance • Experience analyzing healthcare or clinical datasets • Familiarity with healthcare data standards and systems such as HL7, FHIR, or VistA • Experience supporting data validation, transformation, and integration activities • Strong understanding of relational database structures, data modeling, indexing, normalization, and performance tuning • Experience developing reports and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or Microsoft Excel • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail • Ability to identify data discrepancies, investigate root causes, and ensure data accuracy and integrity • Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, and collaboration skills • Ability to present technical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams • Previous experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare data systems, including VX130, Oracle Health Millennium, or the Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW) (additional qualification) • Familiarity with InterSystems IRIS, Caché, mirrored database architectures, or EHR data migration and cutover verification activities (additional qualification) • Experience working within Agile development environments using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar tools (additional qualification) • Knowledge of healthcare data governance, metadata management, source-to-target mapping, data quality monitoring, and technical documentation practices (additional qualification) • Experience using AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot for SQL and data quality work, with understanding of AI output validation, PHI/PII protection, and responsible AI practices (additional qualification) • U.S. Citizenship is required • Successful completion of a background check • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting, when required • Sponsorship is not offered
