Description

• Build and oversee a world-class Legal organization, managing the workflow of the Legal team • Represent the company and employees in a full range of legal matters, including labor and employment, contract, intellectual property, litigation, and more. • Assess, improve and operationalize legal processes ensuring compliance as it relates to laws, regulations, and requirements. • Build and maintain relationships with outside counsel. • Manage outside counsel budget, activities, and reduce usage. • Provide strategic partnership to executive leaders, and ensure alignment to organizational strategy, values, and principles. • Partner with the People team regarding various personnel matters, policies, and complex employee relations issues. • Educate, inform and regularly update internal teams and leadership on relevant law changes that impact their day to day work flow through written communication, joining ad hoc meetings, presenting in a virtual training live or through pre-recorded webinar. • Attend all benefit committee meetings including renewal meetings with outside brokers. • Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices with an emphasis on employment law, data privacy and artificial intelligence.. • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from accredited law school and licensed to practice law in at least one US state. Licensure must be in good standing with no historical disciplinary action. • 10+ years of significant and broad-based experience in multiple legal disciplines, including federal and state employment law and data privacy and emerging AI. • 5 years serving as in-house Legal Counsel, Associate General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, or a similar position that operates with employees across multiple US states Experience working at a software as a service (SaaS) company or similar forward thinking technology company
