📋 Description

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team • Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems • Support peers and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation and technical decisions • Articulate technical constraints and evaluate risks and trade-offs • Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues • Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics • Escalate issues and participate in keep-the-lights-on and on-call efforts • Establish and improve code review and design standards • Advocate for engineering standards through writing and tech talks • Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages such as Python or Kotlin • Track record developing highly available distributed systems • Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes • Experience scaling Iceberg, Flink, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, and Terraform • Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components • Ability to write high-quality, understandable, and reusable code • Proficiency making significant changes in large code bases • Tools and practices enabling safe code changes • Strong ownership of professional growth and proactive feedback-seeking • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
