📋 Description

• Own the design and implementation of high-scale backend systems and APIs powering DistroKid’s core platform • Architect and evolve distributed systems on AWS for high throughput, reliability, and performance • Work across backend, infrastructure, and DevOps from API design through deployment and system operations • Design and integrate enterprise-grade systems and external platforms for high-scale workflows • Guide technical design decisions involving data models, service boundaries, scaling strategies, and failure handling • Write production code and remain actively involved in building and improving systems • Improve system observability, reliability, and performance at scale • Partner with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions • Work on high-volume ingestion, global distribution, and elaborate financial flows • Shape architecture at scale and own systems affecting millions of creators worldwide

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems in production environments • Solid, recent hands-on coding experience • Deep experience with AWS, including compute, storage, networking, and scaling • Experience designing and operating high-scale distributed systems • Extensive experience with API design and system architecture in involved environments • Experience across infrastructure and application layers, including DevOps, deployment, and reliability • Experience with enterprise integration platforms such as AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management, MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong, or similar, or experience building and operating large-scale integration layers • Ability to own systems end-to-end from architecture through implementation and production operation • Ability to navigate ambiguity and make critical technical judgments • Professional software engineering experience excluding internships • Must not require visa, work permit, or extension sponsorship in any country
