📋 Description

• Conduct research in complex, high-impact technical or scientific fields • Work independently on specialized technical activities and objectives • Identify gaps in assigned technical areas • Provide high-level engineering support for requirements development and design • Guide and mentor junior staff • Support configuration management and engineering project documentation • Act as technical specialist for projects or project tasks • Support EPRI sales staff in Member Services and EPRI International with member/client needs • Communicate complex strategies and results to subject matter experts, program members, and advisors • Coordinate work activities across programs and sectors • Oversee project teams to ensure technical and financial milestones are met • Organize external and interdepartmental activities to complete projects/products on schedule and within budget • Lead planning and execution of complex project work • Prepare and present research reports • Interface with customers and lead research programs • Influence engineering aspects of project technical work • Coordinate with national and international technical networks, including manufacturers, consultants, academia, and research organizations • Lead proposal efforts and promotional work • Develop research or services opportunities valuable to EPRI members • Provide technical guidance on gas turbine outage planning and execution, inspection and repair strategies, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability • Translate complex technical information into clear recommendations and presentations

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required • Deep technical knowledge and substantial hands-on power plant experience • Experience with gas turbine major inspections and overhauls • Experience in outage management and maintenance • Experience with component condition assessment • Experience with maintenance scope development • Experience coordinating with plant personnel, OEMs, and service providers • Strong understanding of overall plant operations and auxiliary systems • Understanding of interactions between maintenance decisions, plant availability, performance, and lifecycle cost • Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable recommendations • Clear, compelling technical writing • Ability to create visually engaging presentation slides • Confident, effective verbal communication • Established relationships with primary advisors to a research area • Ability to manage medium-level projects and lead research programs • Ability to lead proposal efforts and develop research or services opportunities
