📋 Description

• Develop and maintain systems using COBOL DB2, COBOL CICS, and COBOL Batch, ensuring high performance and process stability • Handle sequential files and VSAM, ensuring data integrity and efficient read/write operations • Prepare and execute JCL (Job Control Language) to manage jobs and processes in a mainframe environment • Use Roscoe for editing and manipulating code and data on the mainframe • Design and run test scenarios to validate code quality and ensure deliveries meet expectations • Implement code versioning practices using GIT • Develop COBOL programs without a user interface and integrate them with APIs via z/OS Connect • Collaborate on the use of containers for development and testing of COBOL programs in a DevOps environment • Maintain high standards of quality, documentation, and code clarity — cleanliness, non-redundancy, and standardization are non-negotiable

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience with COBOL DB2, COBOL CICS, and COBOL Batch • Knowledge of handling sequential files and VSAM • Proficiency in JCL and use of Roscoe in a mainframe environment • Proven experience creating and executing test scenarios • Experience with GIT and good versioning practices • Familiarity with developing headless COBOL programs and integrating them with APIs via z/OS Connect • Knowledge of using containers for development and testing in COBOL environments • Previous experience in the banking sector • Experience with Azure DevOps • Knowledge of .NET — experience navigating z/OS, Console, and Web Services will be highly valued • Experience in DevOps and CI/CD environments
