📋 Description

• Design robust, high-performance solutions across systems and services • Serve as a key technical contributor on critical property and casualty insurance claim projects and initiatives • Share deep technical knowledge and context with others without formal leadership or management duties • Evaluate and advocate for improvements in system architecture, technical standards, and development processes • Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to align technical implementation with business needs • Create proof of concepts to demonstrate capabilities • Enforce standard coding and security best practices • Work within SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) • Design and code scalable solutions using Guidewire ClaimCenter and surrounding middleware such as Java/SpringBoot, AWS SQS/SNS, AWS Lambdas, and AWS PostgreSQL • Influence architecture and provide technical guidance through technical excellence

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field • Minimum of 8 years of developer experience • At least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity • Extensive current Guidewire ClaimCenter developer experience • Knowledge of Java, Gosu, Kotlin, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript • Knowledge of auto insurance; commercial or personal auto lines preferred • Expert-level understanding of the full SDLC • Ability to identify software development lifecycle bottlenecks and propose improvements • Familiarity with software design patterns and architectural principles • Expertise with design patterns, CI/CD, containerization, orchestration, unit and integration testing, Git, RESTful APIs, microservices, AI Prompt/Agentic Engineering, AppDynamics, Splunk, Spring Boot, EKS/ECS, SQL, secure coding, cloud-native architecture, AWS services, Maven or Gradle, Angular, React, Vue, responsive design, progressive web apps, Webpack/NPM • Guidewire InsuranceSuite experience, including ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, PCF, message queues, business rules, database model, assignment rules, REST APIs, messaging queues, batches, troubleshooting, and Guidewire Profiler • Guidewire Cloud InsuranceSuite Professional Developer certification preferred but not required • Ability to work remotely from a US-based home if not local to a Kemper office
