📋 Description

• Define and drive Limble's analytical data infrastructure strategy • Design the boundary between transactional data stores and the analytical layer • Architect and own the reporting framework used by stream-aligned engineering teams • Partner with product leadership to translate customer and business analytics needs into a technical roadmap • Build, hire, and lead a high-performing data and analytics engineering team • Drive architectural decisions through ADR reviews with Principal and Staff engineers • Define data freshness and quality SLAs, build alerting, and communicate pipeline issues to consumers • Establish data governance and quality standards • Drive adoption of the reporting framework across stream-aligned teams • Review critical design decisions, contribute to architecture, and help the team resolve technical blockers • Investigate and leverage AI tooling to support customer-facing insights

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years in an engineering management or technical lead role • Proven experience designing data infrastructure on AWS, including Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redshift, S3, and related services • Strong understanding of operational versus analytical data stores and pipeline design between them • Strong background in data modeling, ELT/ETL pipeline design, and building analytics-ready datasets • Experience building or contributing to a reporting or analytics framework consumed by multiple engineering teams or product surfaces • Experience owning data pipeline observability, including monitoring, alerting, SLAs, and incident response for data freshness and quality issues • Actively leveraging AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar in day-to-day development • Some exposure to embedding AI-driven capabilities inside a SaaS product • Ability to write design documents, review schemas, and weigh in on query optimization • Track record of hiring and developing engineers • Strong communication skills for translating data architecture decisions to product and business stakeholders • Bias toward simple solutions over complex ones • Located in or near the Charlotte, NC metro area • Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship • Nice to have: embedded or in-app analytics experience • Nice to have: AWS event streaming familiarity, including Kinesis, MSK, EventBridge, or Kafka • Nice to have: AWS Glue, Athena, or Lake Formation experience • Nice to have: B2B SaaS experience in a 50–200 employee company • Nice to have: exposure to regulated software environments such as SOC 2 or HIPAA • Nice to have: BI or visualization tooling experience such as Metabase, Looker, or Tableau
