📋 Description

• Lead a team of mid-level, senior, and staff software engineers responsible for core policy, billing, and financial ledger platforms • Provide people leadership, technical guidance, and architectural guidance for scalable, secure, high-performing back end systems • Coach and develop engineers • Partner with Product Management, Program Management, engineering leaders, and teams across the company to align technical execution with business goals and drive product delivery • Improve engineering processes, team efficiency, and effectiveness • Set and manage expectations with leadership and external stakeholders • Drive team performance against KPIs for throughput, product quality, security, and performance • Lead sprint and roadmap planning, capacity modeling, and resourcing efforts • Stay current on industry trends and drive adoption of engineering best practices

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, or equivalent relevant experience • 8–10 years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years of engineering management experience • Experience with personnel development and performance management • Project management experience • Experience with sprint and roadmap planning, capacity modeling, and resourcing • Strong technical architecture fluency, focused on back end systems • Strong enterprise partnership and stakeholder management skills • Executive-ready written communication skills • Bonus: Experience in insurance, banking, or investing • Bonus: Experience with AI-assisted engineering practices, including spec-driven development, context and harness engineering, and autonomous agentic workflows • Bonus: Familiarity with Go, Python, TypeScript, GraphQL, gRPC, Postgres, Mongo, Snowflake, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
