📋 Description

• Guide cloud architecture strategy with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and cost efficiency • Lead capacity planning to scale ahead of demand • Own the health and architecture of the Kubernetes (GKE) platform • Design and evolve network architecture, global routing, connectivity, and Cloudflare edge strategy • Drive Infrastructure as Code standards and build reusable Terraform/Terragrunt modules • Build and mature observability practices, monitoring, alerting, and SLOs • Lead disaster recovery planning, backup design, failover planning, and RTO/RPO definition • Architect highly available and fault-tolerant systems • Optimize cloud costs and balance performance, resilience, and spend • Mentor senior engineers and grow their technical judgment • Build developer-enablement tools and self-service patterns • Represent infrastructure and reliability concerns in planning • Champion change management, peer review, staged rollouts, and go/no-go gates • Lead high-severity incident response and participate in the on-call rotation • Turn incidents into lasting reliability improvements

🎯 Requirements

• Expert-level knowledge of GCP and broad infrastructure • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform and Terragrunt • Experience with GitLab or similar and CI/CD pipeline design and operation • Expertise in Kubernetes and containerization, including Helm • Strong experience with network architecture, routing, and connectivity within GCP and across cloud providers • Strong experience with edge security and traffic management using solutions like Cloudflare • Deep familiarity with observability tooling and monitoring strategy • Experience leading incident management and response • Staff-level L6 track record, including mentoring senior engineers • Experience architecting highly available, fault-tolerant systems • Basic ability to read, understand, and write code across languages and runtimes such as Ruby/Rails, Java, and Python • Current and continued permanent residency in the United States required • Experience with cloud cost allocation and control (preferred) • Experience with capacity planning and infrastructure forecasting at scale (preferred) • Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure (preferred; GCP-primary)
